So it started with 1/4. When added 15 gallons, it became 3/4. Which means, 2/4 of the tank was filled with 15 gallons, which is half the tank. Since half the tank was filled from 15 gallons, divide 15 gallons by 2, so you find how much gallons fills from a quarter. This works since half divided by 2 = a quarter. 15 gallons / 2 = 7.5 gallons. You need 7.5 gallons more to fill the tank.
