OpenStudy (igreen):

Dividing -5 is the same thing as multiplying -1/5. Convert -4 2/5 into an improper fraction: \(-4 \dfrac{2}{5} \rightarrow -\dfrac{18}{5}\) Now we can multiply: \(-\dfrac{18}{5} \times -\dfrac{1}{5} \rightarrow \dfrac{-18 \times -1}{-5 \times -5}\) Can you multiply those? @elephantinair77

OpenStudy (igreen):

-18 * -1 = ? -5 * -5 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 and 25

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, so that gives us \(\dfrac{18}{25}\).

OpenStudy (igreen):

That's your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could it be 8/25?

OpenStudy (igreen):

No.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well there are options and none of them are 18/25.

OpenStudy (igreen):

But it could be 22/25.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. that is one of the few options. So I am going with 22/25

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, sounds good.
