Which is the equation of the given line? x = –4 y = –4 y = –4x x = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you screencap the graph, please?

OpenStudy (freckles):

If the line is a vertical line, it will in the form x=some number example of vertical lines: x=4 x=-4 x=5 x=0 x=pi x=1.233 If the line a horizontal line, it will be in the form y=some number examples of horizontal lines: y=4 y=-4 y=4 y=0 y=pi y=1.233

OpenStudy (freckles):

y=ax+b where a is not 0 is example of a line that is neither horizontal or vertical

OpenStudy (freckles):

how would you describe the line in your graph?

OpenStudy (freckles):

vertical, horizontal, or neither?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

horizontal

OpenStudy (freckles):

you have only one option then that could possibly work

OpenStudy (freckles):

what is your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -4?

OpenStudy (freckles):

yep if it is a horizontal line and none of your other options are in the form of y=some number oh I'm assuming your horizontal line is called the x-axis and your vertical line is called the vertical line <--this is the normal but it could also be doodle the other way which then things would change

OpenStudy (freckles):

vertical line is called the y-axis*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankyou

OpenStudy (freckles):

I never opened the file
