if (k - 3) x^2 - hx - 5 = 0 has two real and equal roots, find the value of 'k'

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

For a Quadratic equation having equal roots, then the Discriminant should be 0. So, D = 0 b^2 - 4ac = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so using that how do I find the value of 'k'? sorry I don't recall doing this question or anything similar in class. PS: typo on the equation, it should be: (k - 3) x^2 - kx - 5 = 0
