It's on why the penny should be eliminated
Outline: 1. Introduction: Thesis: Due to economic inefficiency, lack of use, and global irrelevancy, the penny should be eliminated from U.S. currency. -"Money exists to exchange the use of goods and services 2. History of the penny+sentimental value+idioms/traditions -The reason that everybody in the economy preferred money actually made of precious metals such as gold and silver, and their almost-precious cousins nickel and copper, is that this ensured that the issuer did not overproduce money and ruin the economy. -When pay-phones were still ubiquitous and hadn’t yet been raised to a quarter, the penny loafer was often the source of funds for an emergency phone call home, especially for school-age children or teens on dates. -Pennies inspire hatred for users -A possibly related idiomatic expression, "my two cents", may use the low-value denomination to figuratively devalue the speaker's opinions for the sake of irony or humility -Finding a penny is sometimes considered lucky and gives rise to the saying, "Find a penny, pick it up, and all the day you'll have good luck." - 3. The cost of the production of a penny -The penny is negative money for tax payers -The penny DOES have a worth, but the WORTH of that penny is less than that of the substance from which the penny is made. -opportunity costs - Handling and counting penny coins makes transaction costs that may be higher than a penny. It has been claimed that for micropayments the mental arithmetic costs more than the penny. 4. Other Bad Penny Things -This claim is based on a flawed study (funded by the zinc lobby) that found a majority of prices would be rounded up rather than rounded down to the nearest nickel. This study, however, did not take into account factors that randomize the direction of rounding, such as sales tax and the purchase of multiple items. It also did not consider pricing strategy. For example, a business owner might choose to round a 99-cent item down to 95 cents to keep the price less than $1. -To "spend a penny" in British idiom means to urinate -hings like parking meters, vending machines don't accept pennies because they are worthless -Zinc, a major component of mid-1982-and-later US cents, is toxic in large quantities. Swallowing such a coin, which is 97.5% zinc, can cause damage to the stomach lining because of the high solubility of the zinc ion in the acidic stomach.[35] Coins are the most commonly ingested foreign body in children but generally are allowed to pass spontaneously unless the patient is symptomatic.[36] Zinc toxicity, mostly in the form of the ingestion of US pennies minted after 1982, is commonly fatal in dogs where it causes a severe hemolytic anemia.[37] It is also highly toxic in pet parrots and can often be fatal.[38] -"If Abraham Lincoln were alive today, he would say: 'Why is my face on a coin that is worth 1/26 of what a penny was worth when I was President?'"- John Green 5. Why to keep the penny (and why it's stupid) -We should keep the penny because, without it, how would we have proper change at stores. Also, we could save certain pennys and get money for them so that they would be worth much more than one cent. Pennies need to be present so that people would have the proper amount of money that are owed to them. - 3. Parents and allowances my parents used to give me money in pennies when I was a young child. Pennies help children learn about money, counting ,and math. -The reason that everybody in the economy preferred money actually made of precious metals such as gold and silver, and their almost-precious cousins nickel and copper, is that this ensured that the issuer did not overproduce money and ruin the economy.Benjamin: Which would be precisely why we should insist that the United States keep making it. It can remind the country of how properly to conduct monetary policy. When market signals say you are pushing too hard, stop it. The real economy will respond by getting back to what it does best, which is roaring. 6: Conclusion: Due to economic inefficiency, lack of use, and global irrelevancy, the penny should be eliminated from U.S. currency.

this is what I have so far
hello there?
are you guys confused? just let me know ^.^
I am, sorry.
It's okay, what's the matter?
Its hard I just don't know how to turn an outline into a paragrpah
Was this topic chosen by you or was it assigned to you.
chosen by me
Why this particular topic though?
Because I have to write a persuasive paper
But the penny, why get rid of it?
To me...the idea of getting rid of the penny is something that's not necessary. It's a value that helps meet the tight ends. For example, you need to pay $1.37 for a candy bar. You could do so by paying 1 dollar, a quarter, two nickels and two pennies. But how else would you pay for it if there was no penny? You could of course pay two dollars, but then how would you get the appropriate amount of change back if there were no pennies?
Of course it's not widely used, as most middle class and up don't exactly bother. But this is like a starting point of value for small things, the lower class and just quick small purchases
Basically round down by 5 cents
have you seen it
