what is the zero of the function f(x)

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

consider this function \[f(x)=\frac{ (x-a)(x-b)(x+c) }{ (x-m)(x-n)(x+p) }\] for this function \[zeroes~are ~Z=a,b,-c\]

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

for zeroes u have to equate terms in numerator to zero like x-a=0 x=a x-b=0 x=b loke this and for poles u have to equate terms in denominator to zero

OpenStudy (sidsiddhartha):

zeroes are the values of the function for which the function itself becomes zero and poles are the values of the function for which the function becomes infinity
