OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait that cant be right, cuz then its 5 x 18 + 4 x 4 = 8 and that is too high of a number

the upper question is 5x + 4y = 8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
we have to figure out what x and y are in order to get 8
OpenStudy (m3ga-bit3):
my bad that answer was for the second one...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ohhh ok :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah x and y have to correspond to both problems

Solve the system via substitution.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yea i know how to do it, i just cant find the corrst x and y because there are so many possibilities, and i was hoping that someone could do it.
OpenStudy (catlover5925):
ok so solve for Y in the first problem ---> get Y=2-5/4x
then plug it in to the second equation plug in for y---> get X= 4
Then plug 4 in for x back into the first equation ---> get Y= -3
