Which of these ordered pairs is a solution to the linear inequality y – 4x ≤ –6? A. (-2, 4) B. (1, -2) C. (1, 3) D. (2, 3) I think it's B...is that correct?

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

You're correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is B) (1,-2). But the best way for you to do this would be by graphing and checking the values.

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

Or by simply plugging the x & y values into the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks(: I plugged the x and y values in but I just wasn't sure if my answer was correct.

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

Just remember, when you're checking for this problem </= -6, the number on the other side of the equation or inequality has to be bigger than -6 because it will be farther away from 0 and -6. Any negative number closer to 0 is bigger than -6.
