fan and medal Has anybody read "In just" by E.E Cummings? Why does E.E. Cummings describe the balloonman as "goat-footed" in "in Just"? A. He is suggesting that the balloonman is dangerous to the children. B. He is referring to the fact that baby animals are born in spring. C. He is comparing the children to the balloonman. D. He is making an allusion to the Greek god Pan and his pipes.

Yes. Another example of symbolism is shown in the passage: “the goat-footed balloonMan”. The words “goat-footed” could be describing a satyr, which is a fertility god in Greek mythology. As fertility gods, it would be obvious that satyrs would come out in the time of year when growth and fertility is at its height. Does this help? if not i have more.
