ALGEBRA HELP FOR MEDAL + FAN!!! Solve the formula for the variable y. z = 4x + 2y Options: y=z/2-4x y=z/2-2x y=z/2+2x y=z-2x

Alright, so can you show me what you've done?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What you do to the left side you must also do to the right, for example, lets take this expression. y=x+1 Here, lets solve for x. What we want to do is minus the 1 on both sides so it gets cancelled on the right and we're left with just the x. So our equation becomes x = y-1.

do I subtract 4x from both sides or 2y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you're isolating the y, meaning you want y on its own. So subtract 4x.
