Why is it neccasary to be able to replicate the results of a scientific experiment?

Anything can happen once. You want to be able to show consistency---what can other person reasonably expect to happen if they repeat your experiment? You can't tell them that with any certainty until you have consistently seen the same results yourself. This means that you need to repeat your process a number of times.
