OpenStudy (junyang96):

Factorise

OpenStudy (junyang96):

\[\frac{ 5 }{ 3 }x ^{-\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }}-\frac{ 5 }{ 3 }x ^{\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }}\]

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

this is a derivative?

OpenStudy (junyang96):

yeah lol how did you know

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

because you multiplied times some power that is a third

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I mean the coefficients of the Xs and their powers.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

detective, lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you have (5/3)x^(-1/3) in both terms, but I don't see any purpose in factoring. The only thing that my teacher required me to do, is to get rid of negative exponents.

OpenStudy (junyang96):

I'm trying to do 1st derivative test to find the critical points. that's why I wanted to factorise it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

ohh..
