Write a direct variation equation that relates x to y. Then solve. Show both the equation and the solution. If y = 8 when x = 4, find y when x = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think these go like \[y=kx\] and since \[8=k\times 4\] that tells you \(k=2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in more simple english the fact that if \(x=4\) then \(y=8\) tells you that \(y\) is double \(x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that means if \(x=5\) then \(y=10\) etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sire where is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure*

btw its not nice to post on other peopels question telling people to go to theirs
