Write an equation in slope intercept form of the line that passes through (4, 1) and (5, -1) I'm sorry, I completely forgot how to write slope/intercept equations. My brain is a sieve when it comes to math. Can someone please explain how?
well if you subtract the x values and the y values independently and put y/x, it'll give you the slope of the line. so, 1--1/5-4 (meaning that the change in x is 1, and the change in y is 2, so the gradient is 2/1 or just 2). To work out the intercept, you find the x value, assuming the Y value is 0. It may help to draw it out?
So how do I find the x value?
I used to know how to do this perfectly but im an adult and haven't gone to school in about 20 years im so sorry :(
And my teachers all say that I'll need to know all of this information in real life.... XD
Lol
It depends in what kinda job u have if u have a job where u have to do all of these stuff then its necessary
Well, I told my teacher that I'm probably going to be an artist, and she insisted that I need to know this stuff, because of finances and so on. Right... lol
Lol weird teacher :)
Well ur teacher is right in a way too hard for me to explain
So @pking8786 How would I find the x value?

Ok, so looking at that, you can see that the gradient is -2 (not 2 like I put before) and you can plug that value in for the coordinates
