Is this correct...please explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A = 10?

OpenStudy (bibby):

we're given a point on the function (2,\(\frac{5}{4}\)) we can plug it in to the formula \(f(x)=\large \frac{a}{x^3}\) \(\large \frac{5}{4}=\large \frac{a}{2^3}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

= 5/4 and a/8 ... 4a = 40 and a = 10? Cross multiplying

OpenStudy (bibby):

yeah. personally I 'd multiply both sides by 8. \(\huge \cancel{8}2\frac{5}{\cancel{4}1}=a\) \(\huge 2*5=a=10\)

OpenStudy (bibby):

that looks ugly, hmm|dw:1416339323419:dw|
