Fourier Transform of f(t) = t h(t), where h(t) is the heaviside step function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int\limits_{0}^{\infty} t e ^{iwt}dt\]

I can use mathematica. But I dont quite get how to get from this integral to the answer. Any help is appreciated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It seems to me that the integral doesn't exist - if you integrate by parts you end up with a term that is infinite at the upper limit (at least that is what I found, I could be wrong).

OpenStudy (surry99):

What did mathematica give you for a result?

OpenStudy (surry99):

Hint: your results from mathematica should tell you whether there is a problem with your integral
