OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Help with sin please? Medal. @e.mccormick @jdoe0001 @mathmath333

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

looks very straightforward

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ther are 4 spots on that graph, that the sine function hits 0 and is a pattern, so..... notice those spots

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

@jdoe0001 I'm thinking B, but the k's were confusing me...

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

they don't say it, but k is an integer so for example, in choice A we have \[\Large \theta = 2k\] which means that theta is equal to 2*0, 2*1, 2*2, 2*3, etc Basically any number in the form 2*(whole number). This notation is used to list the infinitely many solutions.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and pi*k is correct because pi*0 = 0 is a solution so is pi*1 = pi so is pi*2 = 2pi etc etc

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Oh! I see. So then B would be correct?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes it would be

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Thanks once again @jim_thompson5910 :)
