any thoughts?

Not a clue
OpenStudy (amistre64):
it would help if you had a clue with something this basic.

knowing what form the equation is expected to be given in tells us how to determine its parts.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
y=0.5x+2 ???

@TheSmartOne
OpenStudy (amistre64):
when x=0, what does y equal?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0

I know @amistre64 is helping you. You are in good hands xD
OpenStudy (amistre64):
assuming you see that the format is slope intercept: then y = mx + b is the parts we need to fill in
m=slope
b=y intercept
OpenStudy (amistre64):
the graph cross the y axis at what y value?
slope is prolly best defined here as rise/run since we can visually see it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
this doesn't make sense im not good at this kind of math

@amistre64 ??

1?
TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
Yes so that is the y-intercept.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay
TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
So so far we have
y= mx +b
we got b=1 so
y=mx+1

To get m we can either take two points and find the slope or plug in a point and solve for m..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
take two points
