I keep getting this Google Translate Pop-Up when I click any text box and it won't go away D: http://prntscr.com/58j2ut Can anyone help me make it go away T-T
Problem noted, can assist. Can I see a screenshot of your add-ons/extensions?
I haven't downloaded any add-ons or extensions on this LapTop, it won't let me for some reason. I have a Chromebook.
It just stared now. I haven't recently used Google Translate either
Have you tried restarting your computer?
Yes I have
x) I do that everytime I have a problem
Screenshot your entire screen for me, please.
Okie hold on a sec
Alternative solution: Most Chromebooks can run a version of Linux. Scrap the crapware, and install a good distro. Possible solution: You toggled a setting possibly.
I just closed this tab and opened a new one. So far it hasn't popped up yet
Can I see a screencap of your screen....
That is telling me no passwords will be saved
Screenshot your settings, perhaps there is a toggled setting.
Okay hold on a sec
What anti-virus are you using?
It is a built in Anti-Virus
Chromebook = Secure, no threats.
Huh odd. @sammixboo , try this: Tools > Options > Under the Hood > Translate and deselect the box next to "Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language I read."
@Opcode , that's actually a myth. Same with macbooks. They get viruses, too.
My PSP and phone have both had viruses as well.
I would like you to say that to Google who offers 1M in the iPwn competition in trying to infect it.
Not Chromebook's are based on a Linux kernel, you need superuser to access the good files. It makes infecting it quite painful to infect. Macbooks are closed-source so no comment.
It isn't popping up anymore, but now I can't close my question. The whole 'close/bump' part is gone
Refresh maybe?
Yeah I got it. I just opened a different tab
OS has been really weird for me lately >_<
But OS loves you a lot...isn't it ?
Make sure your Chromebook is updated to the latest.
*version.
It is :) It updates the second an update gets released
It's a simple myth though - any hardware connected to the internet is at risk. Even macbooks get viruses.
Mhmhm
Shall I explain why in theory it is unlikely Chromebooks will get a virus?
Go for it. I am brbing anyways ;D
If all fails, Sam, try download Hitman Pro 3 and scan your computer. @Opcode - I know it's not likely, but it is still possible.
Chromebook won't let me download anything but images
I am trying to figure this out as well
@sammixboo you can install Ubuntu on a Chromebook I believe.
I worked on a 2013 Macbook Retina (13 inch) Pro that had a virus on it.
It just tells me I need another file to support this download look here for more info, blah blah
I personally keylogged my wife's Macbook.
Brb >_<
I believe it Op. Hehe. Sammix, you might need additional software. Maybe your drivers have gone looney.
#SupportForLinux See: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-install-linux-on-a-chromebook-and-unlock-its-ful-509039343 Read everything twice before you actually do anything. @Compassionate I take no chances.
Yeah, if I put a keylogger on my fiancee's computer she'd strangle me.
The art is making the keylogger silent, then hacking every website she uses and make them push the logs to your private computer, which is locked, physically and software wise.
