solve and graph the inequality -3|6+x|<-15

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

divide both sides by -3

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I'll show on a different example, \(\large\color{black}{ -2|5+a|<-14 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ -2|5+a|\color{red}{\div (-2)}<-14\color{red}{\div (-2)} }\) \(\large\color{black}{ |5+a|<7 }\) this gives, \(\large\color{black}{ -7<5+a<7 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ -7\color{red}{-5}<5+a\color{red}{-5}<7 \color{red}{-5} }\) (answer) \(\large\color{black}{ -12<a<2 }\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

in your problem, you do the same thing, but with different numbers, and start off by dividing both sides by -3, as I told you...
