7 3/10 + 6 1/3 + 2 7/10 (Fractions)

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Change the fractions to improper fractions and tell me what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I do that?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Mutiply the whole number by the denoimantor

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Add that numerator to that

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Then write that down above the denoimator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the first one would be 73?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

No no

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

7 x 10

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

+ 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

73.

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Sorry yes 73 qq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what now?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

So its 73/10

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Do the same for the other fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

19/3 ?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Mhm keep going

OpenStudy (anonymous):

27/10?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

mhm again!

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

now find the LCD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

least common denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30.

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

yerp x3

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

now add across

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

30 is now the denominator for all fractions so you must now add the numerators of all fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

119?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

yes now simpfily 119/30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 29/30?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 15 1/3 B. 16 1/3 C. 16 11/23 D. 16 5/6

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Can you simplfy more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AndrewTheCookie no, I can't.

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Well then sorry I don't know D:

OpenStudy (reni_love_ela):

16 1/3

OpenStudy (reni_love_ela):

It's B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

How

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me with another one?

OpenStudy (reni_love_ela):

First yo add 7 3/10+ 2 7/10 that will get you 9 10/10. Since 10/10 is a whole number add 1+9=10. Then you will do 10+ 6 1/3 which equals 16 1/3.

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Don't you change it into improper fractions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 5/12 + 8 10/17 + 23 7/12 + 28 7/17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Reni_Love_ELA Help?
