Can anyone help me with a few algebra problems??? PLEASE!

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

sure I can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

Which of the following is equal to square root of the cube root of 5? 5 to the power of 1 over 3 5 to the power of 1 over 6 5 to the power of 2 over 3 5 to the power of 3 over 2

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

D

OpenStudy (wmj259):

A cube root is basically a number to the ^(1/3) power. A square root is basically a number to the ^(1/2) power. If you combine them its a exponent raised to another exponent. How do you combine exponents? Multiply the exponents. So (1/3)*(1/2)=(1/6) Yes?

Thank you! Which of the following shows the correct steps to find the value of 16 to the power of 1 over 4? A:16 to the power of 1 over 4 equals 2 to the power of 4 whole to the power of 1 over 4 equals 2 to the power of 4 multiplied by 1 over 4 equals 2 B:16 to the power of 1 over 4 equals 4 to the power of 4 whole to the power of 1 over 4 equals 4 to the power of 4 multiplied by 1 over 4 equals 4 C:16 to the power of 1 over 4 equals 2 to the power of 8 whole to the power of 1 over 4 equals 2 to the power of 8 multiplied by 1 over 4 equals 4 D:16 to the power of 1 over 4 equals 8 to the power of 2 whole to the power of 1 over 4 equals 8 to the power of 2 multiplied by 1 over 4 equals 8

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you just guessing? @goalieboy

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

Wmj259 that would be incorrect

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

No I am not just guessing I am in PRECAL

OpenStudy (wmj259):

@goalieboy, Tsk Tsk

OpenStudy (wmj259):

@ofmice&men The answer to your first question was B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what's the answer? D for the first and B for the second?

OpenStudy (wmj259):

In order for you to understand your question, try writing word problems out in numbers.

OpenStudy (wmj259):

No, B for the first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay..

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

It is not B for the 1st one I promise you

Jack invested some money in a bank at a fixed rate of interest compounded annually. The equation below shows the value of his investment after x years: f(x) = 300(1.02)x What was the average rate of change of the value of Jack's investment from the third year to the fifth year? 6.43 dollars per year 8.24 dollars per year 12.86 dollars per year 14.26 dollars per year

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

A

OpenStudy (wmj259):

@goalieboy, I am in Calc2. Please do not troll answers. @ofmice&men, I gave you a mathematical proof explaining why its B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahh D; I don't know what the answers are now. :(

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

Don't listen to @wmj259 because he does not know what he is talking about... I just asked my teacher and my teacher even says that it is correct.. I am asking my dad which as well took Trig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay... A music competition on television had five elimination rounds. After each elimination, only half of the contestants were sent to the next round. The table below shows the number of contestants in each round of the competition: x 1 2 3 4 5 f(x) 64 32 16 8 4 Compute the average rate of change of f(x) from x = 3 to x = 5, and describe what it represents. -6 contestants per round, and it represents the number of contestants who will reach the final round -28 contestants per round, and it represents the number of contestants who will reach the final round -6 contestants per round, and it represents the average rate at which the number of contestants decreased from the third round to the fifth round -28 contestants per round, and it represents the average rate at which the number of contestants decreased from the third round to the fifth round

OpenStudy (wmj259):

Calc2 > Trig.

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

@wmj259 what are you talking about... I am way smarter than you @wmj259 in math

OpenStudy (wmj259):

Yes, your answer proves it.

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

I am still way smarter than you in math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG!! GUYS I REALLY NEED HELP. I TRUST @wmj259 ON THIS NOW! PLEASE HELP ME.

OpenStudy (wmj259):

Look at the first question again. And explain mathematically why its D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the answers to the others I posted? @wmj259

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

Why do you trust @wmj259 now @ofmice&men

OpenStudy (wmj259):

#2.) A

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

Why do you say that it is a..

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

My dad had varified all of my answers... He took TRIG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm on a timed test please dont start arguing..

OpenStudy (wmj259):

16 = |dw:1416589714817:dw|
