OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
well, honestly it's a try all the possibilities and see what works type.
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
but so if we re-write it as 9+3*5/2+4 what do we get? DOn't forget the order of operations
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
yup, ok so now, I'm gonna tell you this is sort of a trick question, you have to insert 2 sets of parentheses
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
It can't be done with just 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
where? ive tryed alot of posibilities and havent been able to get the answer

a fraction?
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
hinting is difficult here though

think of this \[\frac{x^2 +2x+1}{x+1}\]
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
try and make yours similar
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
a fraction is just division
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
\[9+3*5\color\red{/}2+4\] Division is just a fraction too
OpenStudy (anonymous):

np, just so I can know you got it, what did you use?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
9+3*5
------
2+4
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
ok, your missing a set of parentheses
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
9+(3*5)
------
2+4

you have to add parentheses to negate order of ops, ^that is the same as before 9+(15)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(9+3) 5
------
2+4
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
looks a little better :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
:)
OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
