medal & fan what is a slope of a line that is parallel to the x-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just remember that x-axis is horizontal, and y-axis is vertical. 2) Horizontal always means slope = 0, vertical always means slope = 1. So a line parallel to the x-axis (horizontal) also has a slope of 0

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

Parrallel to the x axis means a horizontal line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The x-axis is a horizontal lines. The slope of a horizontal line is zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

That means the slope is zero

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

@rebelchick777 * vertical lines have UNDEFINED slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty then

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

But for a parallel line, if you used the slope formula y2 - y1/ x2 - x1 the answer would always be 0
