What are the exponential rules of Algebra?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x ^{1}\times x ^{2}= x ^{3}\] when exponents are being multiplied like this then you add the exponents.. look at my example. \[(x ^{1})^{2}= x^{2} \] when you have an exponent being raised to a power then you multiply the exponents.. look at my example. Those are just two rules

OpenStudy (idku):

Also,\[x^3\div x^2=x^{3-2}=x^1=x\]

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Also: \(\dfrac{a^m}{a^n} = a^{m - n} \) \(a^1 = a\) \(a ^0 = 1\)
