A pond, rich in various micro-organisms, dries up due to drought. How will the amoeba in the pond protect themselves from this unfavorable condition? By secreting a thick, protective sac around the cell membrane to prevent entry of water from the environment until favorable conditions emerge By secreting a thick, protective wall around the cell membrane to prevent loss of water, forming a cyst until favorable conditions emerge By secreting a thick cell wall which encloses many amoebae in it to prevent loss of water, forming a cyst until favorable conditions emerge
A fish is not able to live outside of a water environment because the oxygen a fish needs to breathe is formed in a water environment. The fish will breathe the oxygen in through the gills that can be found on the side of the fishes body. Therefore fish are not able to mature in an environment outside of water. They won't survive. They'll die. What do you think it its?
