OpenStudy (aripotta):

lol

OpenStudy (aripotta):

point-slope form is y - y1 = m(x - x1)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so you need to find two points on the line so you can find the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The two points are (-6,6) and (-8,2)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

right. so can you find the slope?\[m=\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1} }{ x _{2}-x _{1} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the slope is 2 ?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yep

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so 2 goes in the first box

OpenStudy (aripotta):

and the x part of (-6,6) goes in the second box

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it ' s y – 6 = 2(x – -6 ) ?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yea, which would actually be y - 6 = 2(x + 6) but the format of entering the answers won't allow that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah , thanks !! <3

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no problemo :)
