Need help with one of my math questions

OpenStudy (philcua):

What is the value of x? 3 • (–4) • x = 0 x =

OpenStudy (philcua):

Refresh it if there is question marks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply 3 and 4, then add to zero. x then will be answered

OpenStudy (philcua):

Yes but I dont know which medal would come to zero

OpenStudy (philcua):

I mean multiple

OpenStudy (philcua):

I need to know what I need to multiply -12 by to get zero @XxEmoWolfxX

OpenStudy (philcua):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you know your multiplication tables you'd already have your answer silly

OpenStudy (philcua):

I thought if I multiplyed a negative number to a negative number it would give me a positive but which one would give me zero

OpenStudy (philcua):

Wow i looked at them but none would give me the answer

OpenStudy (philcua):

-12 * 12 would give me -144 so thats not it

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You don't even need to multiply 3 and -4 together. You can only have a product that equals zero if one of its factors is zero. Since -3 and 4 are not zero, then what must x be?

OpenStudy (philcua):

so like 10 or 20

OpenStudy (philcua):

I am really lost right now

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, multiplying something to 0 will give you 0..and since there isn't a zero multiplied in there, what should x be?

OpenStudy (philcua):

X should be zero

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Do these multiplications: 1 * 0 = 2 * 0 = 3 * 0 = 25,000 * 0 = 124^3 * 0 = Any number times zero equals zero.

OpenStudy (philcua):

Ohh it was so simple man I am dumb forgot about that thought is was going to be something complicated

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, x should be zero.

OpenStudy (philcua):

ok can you help me with one more

OpenStudy (igreen):

No, sorry. I have to go now :'(

OpenStudy (philcua):

Ok no prob
