What lake zone would be absent in a very shallow lake? a. benthic zone b.aphotic zone c. pelagic zone d. littoral zone e. limnetic zone
I think it's A, because the benthic zone I believe is the deepest.
It is A The benthic zone is mostly in oceans so it would definitely not be in a lake
B) The aphotic zone - The benthic zone is the ecological region at the lowest level of a body of water such as an ocean or a lake. - The aphotic zone is the portion of a lake or ocean where less than 1% of sunlight penetrates. - The pelagic zone is the portion of a lake or ocean lake that is not close to the bottom or near to the shore. - The littoral zone is that part of a sea, lake or river that is close to the shore. - The limnetic zone is the lighted surface waters above the profundal zone in a lake, away from the shore occupied by a variety of phytoplankton. @KittyT Isn't it benthic then? We're looking for something that would be completely absent in shallow lakes.
