OpenStudy (twizttiez):

A yearbook printer charges based on the number of pages printed. Here is a table that shows the cost of some recent yearbooks. Number of pages 50 100 150 200 Cost 1.55 2.25 2.95 3.65 Which equation gives the cost, y, in terms of the number of pages, x? A. y = 0.014x + 49.15 B. y = 0.014x + 1.55 C. y = 0.014x + 0.85 D. y = 58.8x + 0.85

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

I think it could be A but I'm not certain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can eliminate A; the cost of yearbooks are all less than 49.15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u sure this are all the options i can work u tru the steps but i am not getting any of the options u have posted

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

100% sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..i'll look over again

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Ok could it possibly be B then @dimensionx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the data what is the cost of 1 page?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

1.55 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope that is the cost for 50pages

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look t the difference between page 50-100 100-150 then u can tell?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Oh sorry xD would it be 0.031?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nah.. ok do these what is the difference between the cost of 100 pages to 50pages

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

0.7 i did 2.25-1.55

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

I hope i don't seem like an idiot i am just awful at math

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@MrNood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok great. no u don't seem like an idiot we are all learning try the same method for the cost between 150 pages and 100pages to confirm ur initial difference is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get the same 0.7? @TwiztTiez

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Yup yup

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@Mariam.A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok great then so if the difference is 0.7 and the cost for 50pages is 1.55 what is the cost for 1 page going to be?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

0.85??

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@Mariam.A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does would u be using the 0.85 for?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

So then it'd be C or D right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but u still need to find one more variable

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Which is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can decide to test both option to see which one works out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or divide your rate difference 0.7 by the number of pages difference 50 to work it out meaning 0.7/50

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Is it D?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

No it's C i get it thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur welcome..

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Because 0.7/50=0.014 thanks fanned and medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :D

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Can you help me with one more @Mariam.A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, i'll try ..post it
