A desalination plant is set up in a bay to provide fresh, drinkable water by removing salt from ocean water and returning the removed salt to the bay. How might the resulting increase in salinity in the bay affect the fish populations? (2 points) The number of open ocean species that could live there would increase. The diversity of phytoplankton in the area would increase. Species that could tolerate low levels of dissolved oxygen would increase. Populations of all the species already living there would increase.
i think it is b
Species that could tolerate low levels of dissolved oxygen would increase.
well i guess i was wrong :P
I don't think you're wrong, actually. I also think that the increased levels of salt in the bay would increase the amount/diversity of phytoplankton. Added iron sulphate (a salt) actually promotes phytoplankton growth.
