*Will fan and medal!* Given that (2,-8) is a point on a line and the line has slope = 3. What is the y-intercept of the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For this equation, you would use y=mx+b, right? :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

M= slope and b=y intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, it would be -8=3x+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@queenleviosa :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he is giving you a point and a slope so for this it will be easiest to use point-slope form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kit_Kat_Nat_<3 Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are welcome, @queenleviosa :) Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is totally ok to say no, too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kit_Kat_Nat_<3 Yes, I got it. Thanks so much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's my pleasure! :)
