how can you represent a baby growing 13 inches in a year in integer
y=13x where x is a number of years, and y is the total growth. but it is supposed to be y=13x + B where B is the initial height, because initially he is NOT zero inches high ( ? )
y=13x where x are the years
y=13x+b
yeah he cannot be 0
( "b" would just be the vertical shift of the line, as far as the equation goes.) But, they should have given you the initial height, or the b .
yeah
Tessabella, does that make any sense? the equation that was given by the other people?
I wouldn't say that it makes sense. There is not enough information to make this equation make sense. We are not given the initial height. The growth itself though can be represented by y=13x.
But it is only asking for a single year, so x wouldn't need to be multiplied by the 13
Looks like that she meant "per year" by saying "in a year" .
Yes, but children don't grow 13 inches each year. I think the question is asking if a baby grew 13 inches in a single year, how would you represent that?
I don't think it is possible that a child grew 13 in a year. Be realisitic. Maybe 7 8 inches, but for sure not 13.
Well it is not realistic for a child to grow exactly 13 inches each year.
13 inches is too much in a single year. Even when a child is growing the most. Unless he is a giant....
well it is just a problem of course t is not truw
it is a fiction we practice math not medicine
