Do you know what the solution to a linear equation means?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

the links isnt working :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And use the attach file button

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sort of :/ not really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the solution to the equation is where the line crosses the x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know which axis is the x axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The x axis is also where y equals zero, do you see any of the options that have 0 for the y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So since y is zero at -1 in this equation the solution is -1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember (x,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be 4. (0,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite, y is -1 in number 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We need y to be 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh then it 1.

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

r u looking for the x-intercept?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly! Good job.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much
