Pete sold tickets for his theater company's performance. Tickets for the performance were sold for $25, $35, or $50. He sold a total of 40 tickets for $1,670. He sold twice as many $35 tickets as $25 tickets. How many $25 tickets did Pete sell?

I'm unsure what the system of equations would be....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Err I don't know but I know he sold 6 $25 12 $35 and 22 $50.

How'd you get that???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=tickets of 25 b=tickets of 35 c= tickets of 50 2a=b 2a+a+c=40 so ->3a+c=40 25a+35b+50c=1670-> 25a+70a+50c=1670-> 95a+50c=16700 maybe this helps? I really just guessed. My friend had this prob a while ago and I remembered the answer. Sorry I couldn't help more.
