OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the ploidy of the DNA at the end of meiosis I?

OpenStudy (daniel_chernioglo):

Meiosis I is called the reductional division because it halves the number of chromosome sets per cell - a reduction from two sets (the diploid state) to one set (the haploid state). The sister chromatids then separate during the second meiotic division, meiosis II, producing haploid daughter cells. source: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070914152828AACTMgN
