Directrix (directrix):

V = (1/3) * pi * 12 ^2 * 71 where the base radius is 12 and the height is 71.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i would just plug it in? @Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

@CoreyA97 V = (1/3) * pi * 12 ^2 * 71 V = (1/3) * 144 * 71 * pi V= ? Post what you get and then we can compare answers, okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok my answer was 10,701.12 but i dont see that as an option @Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

The answer is supposed to be in terms of pi. So, multiply only these numbers (1/3) * 144 * 71 = When you get that, place the pi symbol at the end. Try again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so my answer would be 10,224 pi @Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

What is 144 times 71 equal to? @CoreyA97

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12 sqaured is 144 as for 71 im not sure @directrix

Directrix (directrix):

>> my answer would be 10,224 pi No, you forgot to divide by 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then my answer would be 3,408 @Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

12 sqaured is 144 as for 71 im not sure You are doing this: multiply 144 by 71. Divide what you get for the product by 3. Put a pi on the end. And, that's it.

Directrix (directrix):

Yes, 3408. ---> Divide that by 3 and tell me what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would get 1,136 @Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

3408 and then add the pi. |dw:1417407707414:dw|
