an equation has one solution

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

Sometimes. It sometimes has 1, sometimes 2, sometimes 3 . . . sometimes none (rarely) . . .

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

a linear equation (a line) has one x-intercept and one y-intercept. If by solution you mean an x-intercept, then the answer is "linear equation" or "line". if soltuion is any point on the line, then I don't think any equation CAN ever have only 1 solution.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I think they are asking for an "x-intercept" definition of the word "soltuion" in this case.

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

I'm pretty sure the choices to this poorly made question is just always, sometimes and never.
