WILL GIVE MEDALS PLEASE HELP IF YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE WITH YOUR ANSWER!!! Find the unknown side length for the rectangle. Area = 1.5 m2 A. 1 m B. 1.5 m C. 2 m D. 3 m

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

do u have the one side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one sec trying to get the link

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mastermind22 what formula do use to find the are of a rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lenght times hight right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes partly correct A= L X W so from the diagram you have the length and the question has given you the area so substitute that into the equation what does it look like now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is the other side 1.5 considering the fact that the area is\[1.5^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the area is 1.5 not \[1.5^{2}\] the 2 is for the unit m not the number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so yea the A is 1.5 and the L is i.5 now substitute that what do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im not the greatest at math but i do know that \[1.5^{2}\]is the area the second power means times 2 which i believe would make 1.5 to the second power to 3.0 most likely meaning the other side is 1.5 correct me if i'm wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like i said im not the best mathematician

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh srry i didnt see you reply lol derp :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it should look like 1.5=1.5 x w you can find w by making it the subject therefore w=1.5/1.5 w=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you get it now? @mastermind22
