does that help?

OpenStudy (ageta):

y−4=−15 first you add 4 both side then you will get y=−11

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

y+(-4)=-15 So when you add s negative number you will have to subtract. So we get y-4=-15 So to get y all alone we have to add 4 on both sides y-4+4=-15+4 y=-15+4 What is -15+4? @kristindunn Also note that -15+4 is the same thing as 4-15
