explain why polar moleclues are formed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Polar molecules are molecules in which the electronegativity - a measure of how strongly an atom attracts electrons - is unequal. For example, water is polar. Oxygen has a higher electronegativity than Hydrogen, so the charges (the electrons) are more strongly attracted toward the oxygen, creating a slightly negative core and slightly positive ends (poles).
