What is the slope of the line? y=-5x-9 slope =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b therefore, m = -5

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the slope of a line, it is's rate of change. If you graph the function you will observe that for each x-unit (as x increases), the y-values goes down by 5 units. (on the other hand as x-DEcreases (by 1 unit), the y-value INcreases (by 5 units).

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So the function keeps infinitely increasing (by 5 units down, each time it goes 1 unit to the right).

got it thanks

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I just said it conceptually. The slope is -5, as it was already said before.

Anytime:)
