@itachi-san! @iambatman @sleepyhead314 @TheSmartOne @AndrewTheCookie

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

find slope do you know how to find slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y2-y1/x2-x1

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yes, find the slopes of the given lines :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did that. Its the y-intercept in line 1 i don't get.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

ok you got y = mx + b plug in what you got for m then Temporarily plug in one of the points on the line for (x,y)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

and try to solve for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one: 0.5 for the second one: 3

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yes fore line 1-> y = 0.5x + b temprarily plug in (-2, 4) so 4 = (0.5)(-2) + b solve for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so far I have y=3+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x*

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its the first line I'm stuck on.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

fore line 1-> y = 0.5x + b temprarily plug in (-2, 4) so 4 = (0.5)(-2) + b solve for b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got y=0.5x+5. is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyhead314

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. :)
