PLEASE HELP ME

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got this on speed dial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to calculuate the slope using that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 i hope im not breaking a rule

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no no i am just busting them for you for posting so much no problem at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want the answer or the method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

method please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we can do both first the answer: \[y=-\frac{4}{3}x+6\] now method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope of the line through \((6,-2),(-12,22)\) is computed via \[\frac{22-(-2)}{-12-6}=\frac{24}{-18}=-\frac{4}{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the the all mighty point slope formula \[y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\] gives you \[y+2=-\frac{4}{3}(x-6)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for \(y\) by disttributing first \[y+2=-\frac{4}{3}x+8\] then subtract \(2\) \[y=-\frac{4}{3}x+6\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all steps are there, so try the next one and see if you can do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks
