ok, lets start with angle A. do you have an idea where to start with that one?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
well it's the vertical one I think so would it be equal to the 40?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup, that was pretty painless, huh?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok, lets skip to angle C. do you know where to start on that one?

Nope haha
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait that's the same isn't it?.-.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok, well the angle adjacent (next to) angle C is how many degrees?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
65
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and how many degrees is a straight line?

0, right? :p
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no, theres 180 degrees in a straight line
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so what 180-65?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
115

OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup, so thats your answer for angle C, because 65 + 115 = a straight line
OpenStudy (anonymous):
make sense?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes (:
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok, now back to angle B. how many degrees are in a triangle?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
180

OpenStudy (anonymous):
right, so look at the three angles in the triangle (the one with angles A and C)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lets call that third angle X, do you know the value of angle X?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Alright so 40 + 115 = 155
180 - 155 = 25
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so B would be 25, right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
not quite, whered you get those numbers from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
oops, i meant the traingle with angles A and B
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the other two angles that are in the triangles o: OH
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah, haha sorry
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so theres angles a, b and x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so a is 40 and the other two would have to both fit into 140

OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup, but theres a very simple way of figuring out angle X
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you know what that is?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ah nope .-.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you see how in the picture most of the angles have a curved line in it, like this
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes o:

but theres on angle that has a box, like this|dw:1417646525062:dw|
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes, so what's the difference?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the box means the angle is a right angle, which is EXACTLY 90 degrees. no more, no less. the rounded line means its either less than 90 or more than 90.
therefore, if angle x is a right angle, how many degrees is it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so x = 90
a + x = 130
and b would be 50
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup! good job(:
