Carrington is paid at the same rate each time he baby sits. The graph shows the rates he is paid for different times. Which equation represents the situation? A.y=1/7x-5 B.y=1/7x+5 C.y=7x-5 Dy=7x+5 http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1512000_1512500/1512350/1/daf3a596b3d6b143c7a470822c2b47d5f1ee856f/MS_IMC-140516-100014.jpg

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@Tuta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i vote c

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Do you agree with him @Tuta?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@Hunus

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@campbell_st

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Do you think it's c @campbell_st ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am always sure that is one thing

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the y-intercept appears to be 5... so that rules out A and C find the slope m = change in y (61 - 33)/change in x(8 - 4) then use y = mx + b m = slope which you can calculate and y is 5... hope it helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nooo you r going to get a bad grade if listen to him

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

@Algorithmic

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

I really need your help your the best i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought u asked me

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

:/

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

I'm really confused and algorithmic has helped me alot

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

just do the math..... the general line is y=mx + b m is the slope...... and b is where the line cuts the y axis... so look at the line, where does is cut or start on the vertical axis..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st has it correct. What do you not understand?

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Ok so it starts at 4,33 and ends at 8,61 i just don't understand what im suppost to plug in im awful at math i appologize :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i had a test i hope u got help

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

And i think chordae might have given me the wrong answer on a question i asked previously

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"find the slope m = change in y (61 - 33)/change in x(8 - 4)" So: \(61 - 33 = 28\) \(24 \div 4 = 7\) Input it into the equation of: \[y = mx + c\] \[y = 7x + 5\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that's why open study wants people to give help... not answers...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ Exactly.

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Ok thanks so much could you help me on a couple more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure, post a new question, and tag me. I will help you if I can.

OpenStudy (twizttiez):

Ok
