Okay first we need to put all these in y=mx+b form some of these are already

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which means we only have 3 problems to solve then you just need to graph first lets solve 5. x-2y=-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first thing we do is subtract x from both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright. These are the ones that confuse me for some reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thats fine all of these need to be in y=mx+b form to get #5 in that form we subtract x from both sides then divide everything by -2 x-2y=-8 will be -2y=-x-8 after step one then y=x/2+8 after step 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you try x+2y=8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry #5 will be y=x/2+4 after dividing by -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x/2+4 simplifies to y-x/2-4=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no slope intercept will not =0 unless it's x=0 or y=0 it'll stay \[y=\frac{ x }{ 2 }+4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh >.< so what would the graph that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go up on the y-axis to 4 plot a point then go up from that point 1 and to the right 2 plot the point again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh gosh.. cx im a slow leaner so that was difficult do you think you can draw it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1417721427754:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so the second point should be at the five??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at (5,2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would be the second point of five?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 @aum can one of you help them i gtg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@paki could you help them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try to figure this out I guess.. uh.. thanks for your help anyway.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i can't help anymore got to go somewhere maybe one of them will come help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 are you able to help?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

which line are you graphing now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right now im trying to graph number 1. y = -1/2x - 4

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Okay, you need two points to draw a line

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

fix your one foot at "-4" on y axis

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats your first point

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you can get the second point using slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's the part I go wrong at
