!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!In the book "Of Mice and Men" George doesn't want Curley to shoot Lennie, even though he's done a horrific thing (kills Curley's wife). Why do you think George wants to keep Lennie alive? Does it seem that George blames Lennie for what he has done or do you think he believes it's Curley's wife fault? Why or why not? This act of stopping Lennie from being killed seems merciful but is it? Why or Why not???
first of all, have u finished the book?
I've read the book before. This question looks more like one that doesn't have much of a wrong answer, since it says "Why do you Think George wants to keep Lennie Alive." It looks like it's asking for your opinion. What is your opinion on that?
yes i have finished the book today
and i know its my opinion but it says state with textual evidence @Jamal5337
Keep in mind that Lennie is Mentally Challenged, and can't do much on his own. He couldn't even defend himself when he was in the fight with Curly. George had to tell Lennie to "Fight Back", and this was after Lennie himself was pretty messed up.
He also don't have a lot of control of his own strength, since he killed some poor little animals as well, with his bare hands, accidentally.
yeah i remember all of that :)
Also, When he gets scared, he holds on to things and don't let go, like the lady in the red dress, when she was panicking. George had to hit him with an object to force him to let go.
Hope I helped!
you did a little but it still helped thanks :)

When answering if you believe that George blames Lennie for what he done, keep in consideration that Lennie cannot do things himself, and acts abnormal in a lot of different circumstances.George knew what was wrong with Lennie. Also, Curly's wife came on to Lennie, not the other way around. He was minding his own business at first, until she came snooping around, but then again, there was no way that she could have known of his problems.
yeah and i also was going to put how everyone at the ranch said shes nothing but trouble
@loop1234 Did your question get answered? Or do you still need help?
