Need help in Algebra II! Will give medals!
Whatcha need?
Solve the absolute value equation. 2/3 l5x+3l + 2 = 4
Okay, next time put your problem in your title so that you know what you're getting into. Okay so just to make sure I am correct it is: 2 divided by 3 times the absolute value of 5x plus 3 plus 2 equals four. Is that right?
Yeah, thats right.
Okay so what do you do first?
Hold that thought, finding my calculator.. lol
Okay lol
I think I would multiply the 2/3 into the 5x and the 3 first.. but I'm not sure..
order of operations say exponents parenthesis and absolute value is counted as a parentheses so you will do whats inside of the absolute value first
Okay.. but you can't add 3 to 5x can you??...
Right. So pretending those are parentheses what would you do?
multiply 2/3 into 5x and into 3, so you would get |10/3x + 2.|
Im trying to explain without confusing you lol yeah that is right. Do you know what is next?
No, I have no idea what would come next. I thought maybe take the 20 away from the left side by subtracting it from the 4.. but I'm not sure about that either..
I would probably subtract 2 from both sides to get it gone
x=6 lol
Lmfao! Thanks! I really do appreciate it.
No prob
