\[-11<x \le-3\]

"an unknown number" = x "is no more than" : all values that are less than -3 "but greater than -11" : -11 < x

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

I should clarify something, if a number is "no more than" a certain number, that means the number you are looking for will reach the said value, but also take on all the values that are less than i.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its anything between -3 and -11
